"The Committee on Drugs & the Law invites the public to a discussion on the current state of domestic marijuana laws and the possibilities for the future, in the wake of the recent legalization measures passed in Colorado and Washington. Members of the Committee will briefly discuss various topics including an overview of state marijuana laws across the country, the status of medical marijuana in New York State, the current tensions around state, federal, and international laws, and special issues such as land use, discrimination, and ethics involved with allowing or disallowing the use of marijuana. The presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion with the audience."
This blog is mainly about the legal aspects of marijuana. It will contain information regarding, when it first was used in the US, when it was banned and why. What positive and negative aspects it has on humans and on communities in general. It will also show what medical use it has and why it can be helpful. It will explain why only certain states have legalized marijuana. And why some people think it should remain illegal.

Legalizing would lower our taxes or at least boost our economy
"The costs of legalizing marijuana would not only be financial. New marijuana users would not be limited to adults if marijuana were legalized, just as regulations on alcohol and tobacco do not prevent use by youth. Rapidly accumulating new research shows that marijuana use is associated with increases in a range of serious mental and physical problems. Lack of public understanding on this relationship is undermining prevention efforts and adversely affecting the nation’s youth and their families."

But my question is, do they really know what will happen in the future? Maybe they should address other issues on how to prevent that. Such as making certain laws and regulations on it. There is a way to prevent abuse of it. Maybe the abuse of marijuana would decrease. No one knows what the future holds
